New partnership with Lebanese Development Network

In the framework of enhancing effective partnership for the implementation of sustainable projects, the Lebanese Development Network (LDN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Semente.

The MoU was respectively signed by Amin Nehme, President of LDN and Filipe Moreira, Chairman of Semente.

The agreement emphasizes the collaborative efforts of both Parties, within their respective mandates and approved work programs, to execute joint projects on the social, economic and environmental levels.

Digital Citizenship

Last February some elements of Semente – Associação de Cooperação para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (Association for Cooperation for Sustainable Development) gave several lectures at different public and private educational institutions on the island of Madeira on Internet Security and Digital Citizenship

These activities involved more than 500 children and young people and about 50 teachers.

Workshop Emerging Technologies in Education

Last February some members of Semente – Associação de Cooperação para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (Association for Cooperation for Sustainable Development) promoted a Short Term Action that involved about two dozen teachers from various curricular areas in the 2/3 Basic School in Caniço (Autonomous Region of Madeira).

This workshop called “Emerging Technologies in Education” aimed to train teachers to use technologies such as Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and the Internet of Things in educational contexts.

Collecting garbage from beaches

Last January some elements of Semente – Associação de Cooperação para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (Association for Cooperation for Sustainable Development) promoted waste collection activities from several beaches in northern Portugal. With the rains and floods, a lot of rubbish washed up on the shore, mainly plastics and metals.

However, there is still a lot of work to be done on our beaches. We are all important in solving this problem.

Semente hosted a workshop

Last week, some members of our association hosted a workshop at Anadia School, as part of an Erasmus+ project entitled TEAMSS – Together Europe Achieves More in School Success.

With this workshop our members presented the possibilities of using new technologies such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Internet of Things in educational contexts, with a view to a more holistic understanding of the world.

This workshop was attended by teachers from Portugal, Italy, Poland, and Romania.
